We are excited to announce an opportunity for a talented and experienced Tech Lead Developer to join our dynamic team. As our Tech Lead, you will play a crucial role in guiding our development team to create exceptional, scalable software solutions for SNCB's onboard and back-office passenger information systems. This role offers a unique chance to work closely with business stakeholders, aligning technical strategies with their goals, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our development processes. With your mentorship, we'll ensure our team delivers high-quality solutions without compromising work-life balance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Technical Expertise: Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performing software solutions
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, analysts, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and technical specifications
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews and drive best practices for coding standards and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team is utilizing the best tools and practices
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement process improvements to enhance development efficiency and effectiveness

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, including proficient experience as a Tech Lead or Lead Developer with .NET C#
  • Fluent in English and French or Dutch
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies, preferably SAFe
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of network systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Rancher
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries
  • Experience with C++ development is a plus
